A: Yes. I do not mind heating up food for students, but if possible, please do not send food that needs to be heated every day. If I have 10 or 12 students needing the microwave every day, that can take up a lot of their time to eat. Please do not send food that needs to be made (noodle cups, etc.). If you wish to send these, please make them at home so they only need to be reheated.
A: Yes, please do! Sometimes it is the weather, or the art area, or biology, but no matter the reason, kindergarten children need a change of clothes with them at school.
A: I do ask that toys from home stay home, so they do not get lost or misplaced. However, there are opportunities for children to bring in items from home. For example: If you recently came back from vacation or had a special event and have a souvenir or photograph your child would like to share, they are welcome to do so. But, please do not send in items that are fragile or valuable.
A: Yes! I believe in the importance of celebrating what is important to my students and their respective cultures, and I try to do this in a respectful and meaningful way. If your family has any special holidays or customs that you celebrate or practice, please let me know; I would love to have them shared with our class.
A: From time to time, I may send home books that your child will read with you or small activities for them to practice. These should never be a cause of stress for either you or your child.
