We coloured orange t-shirts that say "Every Child Matters" to display outside of our classroom.
We went on a "count the room" scavenger hunt. We had to find the shape cards, and count how many of each shape we saw! This was our second time doing this activity, and we found it a lot easier the second time, after practicing counting and writing our numbers.
We had outdoor learning for the first time! We learned about the 5 senses, and then started to compare the different leaves that we found. Some were small, some were big, some were crunchy, and many of them have already started to change colours!
We have been working together to build lots of things this week! We even built a tower with the Minecraft blocks that was as tall as some of our friends!
We borrowed our first books from the library! For now, we are going to keep the books we borrow in the classroom to read.
Our book buddies came to our classroom right after library, so we got to read our new books with them! They even brought some books that they wanted to read to us.
Our stuffed animals loved hanging out with us in KE! They watched us during Fundations, helped us build, and some even got to peek out of the top of our backpacks!
After our morning meeting, we played a game where we had to pass a plate around the circle. But, the trick was that we could only use the clothespin! This practiced our concentration, fine motor skills, and teamwork.
We found out that more people would rather autumn, because 6 is bigger than 5. We also took turns underlining the letters we have been practicing in Fundations.
Every day, we add a sticker to our "Days of School" 10 frames.
During our morning centers and learning centers, we have been practicing lots of math and writing such as counting, adding on to make 10, and making our letters
We made a menu for our restaurant! The options were: a burger, a hotdog, tuna, and a cookie for dessert!
Friday was custodian appreciation day. We talked about all of the amazing things the custodians do at our school (clean, fix things, shovel snow, and help keep our school safe!) We learned that Greg cleans our classroom every day after school, so we made him cards to say thank you!
