One of our morning questions was "If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be?"
We found that a lot of our friends would love to have a unicorn as a pet!
We had to follow the marble around the page with a marker. We found that it was quite tricky, and it make lots of unique squiggles and shapes.
What dinosaurs and sea creatures can we make with play-doh?
Look at that velociraptor!
We had to count the seashells and put a clothespin on the correct number.
We used our fingers to point and count the seashells.
We had to match both sides of the sea creature. We compared them by their colour, shapes, and sizes.
We matched the fish with the same numbers. This was tricky because we has to look closely at the number on each side of the fish.
We had lots of fun connecting the dots. It made lots of cool shapes. This helps us to practice our grip and fine motor control, which we need when we write our letters!
We borrowed some Minecraft magnet blocks from KB, and we made lots of fun creations together. We had so much fun with these, that Mrs. Pilling ordered some, and they should be here this week!
Cardboard corner has been a class favourite! We made robots, masks, houses, and cars this week!
We love spending time with friends in the book corner.
We played "Wormy Apple" with Ms. Katherine.
We are learning how to play Connect Four.
We were blocking each other, then discovered that it made a pattern!
We need a lot of concentration to play Jenga.
We worked together to put together our new princess puzzle.
We read the book "Today is Orange Shirt Day" By Phyllis Webstad and Natassia Davies. We learned about Indigenous culture, and talked about why we honour Orange Shirt Day and Truth and Reconciliation Day.
We learned that Phyllis Webstad was an Indigenous girl who had to go to a school where she wasn't able to play and have fun like we do at L.M and she was not allowed to wear her new orange shirt.
Orange Shirt Day reminds us of our promise that every child matters and that everyone deserves to feel safe, loved, and treated with kindness every single day!
We ended our day on Friday with the L.M. Terry Fox Run. We all chose someone we would finish the run for!
