Tell Me About Your Child in 2A Google Form
On the first day of each week, your child will choose 2-3 books to take home during the week. (For some students, they will take books home to read that have been assigned by resource teachers.)
The books the children bring home will be the ones they choose for the week. Your child will be taking books home that they read the week before. Please help them work on fluency (sound like they are talking). Students are always encouraged to read books from home, too.
On the last day of the week (Friday), the books will be returned
Watch the School/Home Connection Duotang for current information. I will also link some support on this page. It is very important to allow your child an opportunity to review the words and have an opportunity to write sentences using the words. These skills take time and practice.
Playing games with cards and dice games are extremely beneficial for students to practice mathematical thinking and problem-solving.
Baking and cooking, using a recipe, is another great math practice activity.
This is a link to the Scholastic website. It is a great tool to use if you are not sure what reading level a book from your collection is. Please note that the book needs to be sold by this publisher.
