Welcome to Montague Consolidated School! Any and all important school related information (such as safety protocols, class lists/seating charts, friendly faces, etc) can be found in the School Information Binder in the Sub-Tub on the shelf behind the music desk. Classroom routine information can be found below. Please help yourself to anything you may need. Thank you so much for joining us, and have a wonderful day!! 😊❤️
COVID PROTOCOLS: Please give each student hand sanitizer as soon as they enter the class (I stand at the door and give everybody in the line a squirt), and then again as they line up to leave class. Masks must be worn when students are less than 6ft apart. Students know their assigned seating spots.
Teachers will bring their students to the music room for music class, and pick them up when class is over, EXCEPT for 3B (we pick them up after first recess at 12:00 on days 1, 3, and 5), 2G (we pick them up after second recess at 1:50pm on days 2, 4, and 6). We also drop off 1F, 4G, 3F, 2A, and 2F after music class. All classes are marked on the school map in the School Information binder.
The grade 3-6 students are used to staring class by going to their spots and doing a movement activity to "get their brains and bodies ready for music". Once the movement activity is done, we start the music lesson activities. To access these movement activities, click on the picture of our online learning classroom above, then click on the projector. You can choose if you'd rather do a Just Dance, a Run, or some stick figure yoga. *Stick figure yoga requires a school appropriate song, and a leader. Pick one student as the "pointer", and they will lead the class through the warm up. DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS, IF CHOOSING YOGA, CHOOSE SOLO POSES PLEASE. :)
Grades 1-2 students are used to taking wiggle breaks around the middle of class, but please feel free to use videos like "Go Noodle" dances or "Cosmic kids yoga" whenever you feel the need. These younger students can sometimes benefit from cool down time as well, so having them lay down, close their eyes, and listen to a calming song is a great way to reset the class and find green zones.

11:35am-12:00pm - Recess duty in the parking lot. Please meet grade 6 French cohort in the hallway outside the music room, then all walk out together. They know to all come in when the bell rings, however a few of them drag their feet, so please make sure they all make it inside. After this duty, please pick up 3B from the classroom at the bottom of the staircase by Betty's office.
1:15pm-1:30pm - Some boys from 4G will be coming to jam. All they need is someone to supervise, they kindda do their own thing. Please feel free to jam with them, or also send them outside.
