It is recommended that K students do 60-80 minutes of learning per day- this includes music, gym and library. Feel free to mix and match to fit your schedule!
I look forward to hearing your feedback and seeing the students progress!
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email me at mdburns@edu.pe.ca. I will be online daily and will check my emails during school hours from 8:30-3:00.

I have been having some technical issues with the Google Meet recording of the letter K, so for now there will not be a video ( gotta love technology!). I'm not sure what the issue is but as soon as it is resolved I will post it.
Today is Family Literacy Day and Principal Flynn has recorded two read alouds for the students to watch, they are posted above :)
I look forward to seeing everyone's favorite book this morning!

Welcome to another week of remote learning! I hope everyone had a fun and restful weekend, our first weekend of 2022 without a storm!
This week in literacy we will be exploring some winter sports/activities with our morning message and daily stories. In Math we will be looking at the different ways that we can make patterns using colours, size, movements etc.. We will also be learning the letters Jj and Kk, with today ( Monday) being a review of last week's letters ( Gg and Hh).

As we finish up our winter clothing unit I have a fun challenge for my KE friends today, a winter gear challenge!
Les amis: Gather your vetements d'hiver and see how fast you can get dressed! Practice using your french vocabulary for each clothing item as you go, for example: voici mon chapeau or c'est mon manteau. For those who would like an extra challenge you could use a timer ( like we do in the classroom) and try to beat the clock!
Also, just a reminder that this evening everyone is invited to a read aloud with Madame at 6:00pm on Google Meet. This is an optional "just for fun" meet and we'll use the same link that we use for our morning meetings. Don't forget your jammies! Hope to see you there :)

Good morning KE Families! January 17, 2022
I hope you all had a great weekend despite the weather! Yesterday was chilly but, yay snow!
This week will look much like last week routine wise. We will continue to do a routine similar to that of carpet time during our morning meet. In literacy we will be looking at winter clothing, and will have a morning message centered around that each day. In math we will be exploring different types of measurement, with fun activities for your child to do at home. We will also be learning the letters Gg and Hh, how to write them and their sounds.

Sadly we did not get the news we were hoping to from yesterday's briefing, but we will make it work. I know that my little friends would probably much rather be in class together and I would as well, I miss them dearly!
I will be posting daily lessons, that will be made available to you each morning. Please do what you can and do not stress about getting it all done, do what works for you and your family. I have also posted a lot of great resources to the online learning tab that has a lot of fun things to keep your child busy should you wish to switch gears or they've had enough ha! The most important thing right now is that everyone stay healthy and safe.
We are still working out some kinks so please bear with me, I want this to be as smooth of a process for all of us as I can make it!
Please do not hesitate to reach out at any point if you have questions or need a helping hand.

Numeracy- Here you will find daily math lessons/activities.
Literacy- Here you will find daily reading and writing activities, lessons, videos etc.
Online resources- This houses many French resources, including: books, songs, videos, games etc.
I will be adding to each throughout today and tomorrow.
