Math: Ways to Show 7 Watch the Jack Hartmann video again to review ways to show the number 7. How many ways can you show the number 7? Use the Ace-7 from a deck of cards. Shuffle them and lay them face down. Your child can turn over a card and count to find how many. Then turn over another card and count, then decide if it goes before or after the first card. Continue until the cards are in order from 1-7. Then practice counting forwards to 7, and backwards from 7.
Read Aloud: I Love My Fur with Mrs Kassie
Writing: Make sure you listen to today's read aloud with Mrs Kassie! Then, after you finish listening, think: What is something you love about yourself? What is something you love about your family? Your friends? Draw a picture of what you love about yourself and write the sentence: "I love my _________". Then choose a friend and draw a picture of what you love about them. Write the sentence "I love my friend because ________" Take a picture and send it to me when you are finished!

Writing: Make sure you listen to today's read aloud, Big Dog and Little Dog, to see how the author, Dav Pilkey, wrote a story about his pets. If you have a pet, they can be lots of fun to write about! Watch and see what your pet does, then draw a picture to show your story. You can have someone help you write down the words, but make sure you help them with the sounds you hear! If you don't have a pet, borrow Big Dog and Little Dog from Dav Pilkey. Can you draw a story for Big Dog and Little Dog? Or, use you imagination that your stuffed animal came to life and was your pet! What would it do? Example

Math: Here is a fun 2 player game to try called Mystery Roll. You will need: a dice (or number cards numbered from 1-6), and 12 small objects (this could be buttons, dried macaroni, paperclips, etc). How to Play: Each player rolls the dice or chooses a number card. Don't show the other player! Keep your number a mystery! Use the objects to build a set to show your number. When you are ready, show your set to the other player. Have them guess what number you rolled. Whoever has the bigger number gets a point. Keep playing until someone reaches 10 points.

Writing: How are you going to spend your snowy day? Grab a sheet of paper and draw a picture to show me what you might do! Then write and finish the sentence: On my snowy day I am going to ___________

Fundations Lesson (For your Fundations lesson today you might want to get the copies of the letter guides I have been sending home for homework so your students can trace the letters along with me. You can also find a copy of them here if you have a printer. Also, you may want to work together to make a set of letter tiles for them to use. The letters we have done so far are a, e, i, o u, b, c, d, f, g, m, n, r, s, t)
Math video. Can you use objects around your house to make groups of 6? Make number cards with numbers from 1-10. Have a grown up hide them around the room. Go on a number hunt to find all the cards and put them in order. Count from 1-10. Where does number 6 go on the number line? What numbers are around six? Which number is before? Which number is after?
Read Aloud: Froggy Gets Dressed
Writing: What clothes do you wear to get dressed for the winter? Find the clothes you need to wear to be warm when you go outside to play in the snow, and lay them out. Draw a picture of each piece of winter clothing. Then, use the letters for the sounds you hear to label your picture.

Math - Make a set of cards from numbers 1-10, or use a deck of cards. Have a family member hide the cards in a room of your house. Go on a hunt to find the numbers, and arrange them in order. Practice counting forward from 1 to 10, and backwards from 10 to 1. Use loose objects (buttons, dried macaroni, etc) to make sets to show the amount for each number!
Listened to Squirrel's New Year's Resolution (must not be signed into student's google account to watch Youtube videos)
Writing - 1 video of demonstration - Ask your family members if they have made any New Year's resolutions. Draw a picture to show what resolution you would like to make. Have a family member help you write "In 2022 I would like to" and then finish the sentence! You can take a picture of your work to email to me, or bring it to our Google meet on Monday morning!
