Grade 2

November 2023

We will start this month learning a school wide song called Nothing More by the Alternate Routes to sing at our Remembrance Day assembly. We will also be working hard at learning lyrics and dance moves to our two Winter concert songs that will be performed on Thursday, December 7th. 

October 2023

October is one of our favorite months in the music room! We start the month singing songs about turkeys and gratitude and review the terms forte and piano to teach about loud and soft. We then spend the second half of our month doing fun songs that are connected to Halloween! 

September 2023

Welcome back to our grade 2 students for another year of musical fun! We have been fun reviewing our musical elements from grade 1 and have been accompanying many of our new songs on our mallet percussion. We have also learned a few new partner games (lemonade hand clap game is a hit!) and our emphasizing the importance of working with new and old friends in the class! Our grade 2 students have been invited to join our Grade 2 choir that will be beginning on Day 2s during our lunch recess. We are looking forward to a year of musical fun!
