Music at Bluefield

How to get involved in extra-curricular music at Bluefield:

Bluefield Concert Band:   All students enrolled in MUS421/521/621 are required to participate in the Concert Band.  Students who took band in grade 10, but who are unable to take MUS521/621 due to course conflicts - but want to continue in band should make special arrangements with Mrs. MacLaine, however, they must demonstrate a commitment to attending rehearsals and practicing their music in order to participate.  This band will perform at all of our concerts and festivals and participate on a yearly band performance tour.

Bluefield Jazz Band:  The Bluefield Jazz band is another opportunity for those students who have previous experience on their band instrument.   Again, students do not have to be enrolled in Music 421, 521 or 621 to participate in band, however, they must demonstrate a commitment to attending rehearsals and practicing their music in order to participate.  This band will also perform at all of our concerts and festivals.

Bluefield Pep Band:   The Bluefield Pep Band is a smaller band that plays popular music for sporting events and smaller community gatherings.  Any student currently in the Concert Band may also choose to participate in Pep Band.
