October 26th-30th, 2026
Hi Families,
I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween weekend! The weather wasn't great, but it sounds like everyone still had a fun evening!
We had a busy and fun filled week last week in grade 2. There were several highlights throughout the week including arts and crafts, hallway stations, a costume parade throughout the school and lastly, a little classroom party to end the day :)
This will be a short week as there is no school on Thursday and Friday for students! Next week I will be starting to assess students on learning goals taught so far. This is in preparation for the first set of report cards and parent teacher interviews. I am looking forward to meeting with you at the end of the month to discuss your child's progress so far in grade 2!
Wednesday, the Cool Kids Club is putting on a fundraiser for the Make a Wish Foundation. Students are welcome to wear a hat or crazy hair to school with the donation of $2. Thank you for your support in this cause!

Hi Families,
I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful weekend! The weather was fantastic.
The grade 2 team had so much fun on our field trip to Cotton Park last week! The weather cooperated nicely and the children had a blast exploring at the learning stations. I will send some pictures along.
It is Halloween week at GSP! This is always a fun week with lots of energy. We will be doing Halloween activities throughout the week in reading, writing, math and art. On Friday, students are welcome to dress up in their costume if they wish. We do ask that you please avoid costumes that are very scary. Also, no masks or weapons are permitted at the school. They can wear their costume to school or bring it with them. If your child would like to bring treats to share with the class, they can do so. This is not a requirement! Just if they wish to. Please make sure anything you send in is nut free. In the morning, we will be doing a costume parade where we walk through other classrooms to show our costumes. Other classes will walk through our classroom as well. We are also going to be doing some fun hallway stations in the grade 2 hallway. The students will get to participate in Halloween activities in each of the grade 2 classrooms! It should be a very fun day.
