June 15-19
How is it possible that this is our last full week of school?! Next week is a shorter week. We're going to make these last days together awesome; there's still learning to do and lots of fun to be had!
Homework: There will be no homework assigned for the rest of the year. We understand that as the evenings stay brighter longer, families get busier with activites and bedtimes shift a bit. Students are encouraged to spend time with family and friends. Learning could include sharing books from home, enjoying time in nature, playing outside, making popsicles, treasure hunting on the beach, making a bucket list for the summer... or anything that sparks interest.
Fundations - coninue on with Unit 12 - sounds of oi and oy. Trick words: favourite. early, ocean
L. Arts - Procedural writing/How to writing. We are learning the importance of being specific with our instructions. If they haven't told you already, ask your child about making a jelly sandwich in class last week.
Math - 2D and 3D shapes, problem solving, measurement.
Shining Waters Field Trip - Friday, June 19th
Our field trip plans are for rain or shine, so we are all sending very good vibes out for fine weather on Friday. Information and permission forms are being sent home with students today. Please return signed permission forms and payment by Wednesday, June 17. The cost of the field trip is $21; payment can be cash sent in with your child or online on our hot lunches site. Please indicate if the payment has been made online on the permission form. *If your child will not be attending on Friday, please let me know.
The top sheet of paper is yours to keep; it has a list of items to pack for the day. Please also ensure students are wearing comfortable footwear for running and playing and have sunscreen applied before they come to school (and on areas that may exposed to the sun later if they go on the water slides or wading pool, for example.)
The bus will be leaving the school at 8:45am; please have students at school by 8:30, so everyone has time to prepare for the day before boarding the bus. It's going to be a fun field trip!
Return school books and other items: Please have a look around home for any books or other items that may belong to the school and return as soon as possible.
Have a great week!
