Dear Parents/ Carers,

A warm welcome back to everyone this week.

A huge thank you to Lucy Robinson in the office for setting up and organising terms Extended Provisions for Summer term which begin next week. Please be punctual for collection at the end of the session, see times and collection points here. Also please contact the office if your child is not attending their scheduled provision.

Lovely to see the reading practice sessions start in Reception and Year 1 start this week.

It was great to see parents and carers on site enjoying the children's fantastic science projects, I hope you enjoyed seeing all of the hard work which went into them.

Summer term is a busy time, please take a note of the diary dates which can be found on the left and on the school website.

Please note changed Inset Day for September 2022 where school will be closed the 1st and 2nd September staff for training. Children from Y1-Y6 will start on Monday 5th September. This means that we will NOT have an inset day in February as originally planned so school will be OPEN as usual on Monday 20th February.

ECO NEWS

Save the Earth!

Today is Earth Day! Earth Day is celebrated each year on 22nd April to show support for the protection of the environment and our planet. It was first held on 22nd April 1970, in the United States.

In the Rights Respecting Assembly on Thursday, Upper School thought about things that they already do which help protect the planet, such as bringing reusable water bottles to school, looking after wildlife and taking part in the Big Pedal. The children were reminded about Article 6 and Article 24 from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child; Article 6 - Every child has the right to life and Article 24 - Every child has the right to the best possible health care, clean water, nutritious food and a clean environment. We discussed how we need to look after our world to ensure children everywhere have these rights.

You can use the link below to find out more about Earth Day...every small action makes a difference!
