There are counselors available virtually to meet with you. They can help you with what classes to take, your academic progress, and/or transfer.
Navigating higher education, transfer requirements, and degree plans can be difficult. As a student I didn't bother to see a counselor until right before I transferred. Instead, I took classes that I thought were interesting and not classes that were on my educational plan. Well, when it came time to transfer I had to take additional science lecture and labs, in the summer, all day, Monday through Friday. Moral of the story, I encourage you to see a counselor about your academic progress.

Going to school and taking care of yourself can be overwhelming. If you are feeling overwhelmed, check out our mental health resources. Mental health is just as important as physical health. Mental health counseling has been something that has helped me manage feeling overwhelmed, engage in healthy relationships, and set appropriate boundaries . Physical health is key to your success. You can't do your best work when you are sick. If you are feeling sick, take the time to feel better and see a health care provider on campus.
Student Accessibility Services
Formerly DSPS. Student Accessibility Services provides services like accommodations for testing, transcription, interpreters, etc.
Accessibility is crucial to succeeding in higher education. As an instructor, I strive to make sure all materials are accessible inside the course. However, there may be areas you need additional support, including accommodation. Needing accommodation should not make you feel embarrassed. As a student I used accommodations several times to assist my educational journey. If you have questions about accommodations or SAS please contact me.
Tutoring in a variety of subjects including English, Math, ESL, and Economics. Tutoring is appointment based and virtual for fall 2020.
You may find that you need some additional help mastering concepts in a course and that office hours or emails with the instructor aren't enough. We have a variety of tutoring resources at Cerritos College. There are tutors that can assist in most areas of study. For our classes the tutoring center can help you organize your information, write clear arguments, cite sources, and incorporate research into your speech. Tutoring services are currently virtual. You will zoom with a campus tutor who will be able to assist you in achieving academic success.
