State Testing

9th grade- April (All 9th grade students)

    • PSAT9- Score used to determine Dual Enrollment Eligibility

10th Grade- April (All 10th grade students)

    • PSAT10- Score used to determine Dual Enrollment Eligibility

11th Grade-

    • SAT- College Entrance Exam (April)
      • Graduation requirement
      • Score used to get admitted to colleges
      • Score used for scholarships
    • ACT- Workkeys (April)
      • Measures worksplace readiness skills
      • Graduation requirement
    • M-Step (April)
      • Social Studies and Science Testing
      • Graduation Requirement

Optional Testing

PSAT/NMSQT- October (Any Juniors)

    • National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test
    • Great practice for SAT
    • Small Fee

College Entrance Exam Retake Options:

    • If a student did not score high enough or wants to improve their score on the SAT or ACT they can sign up to take those tests again.
    • Testing (ACT/SAT) re-take dates: on College Board collegeboard.org or act.org If needed Fee Waivers are available in the counseling office.
    • Check those websites for Dates and Times of tests
    • Choose a location (Houghton is the closest)
