Tryout Material

During the week-long tryout clinic, 5/1/23-5/5/23 you will learn everything you need to know for tryouts, but you will have to practice at home in the evenings. Tryouts will help us determine captains and position spots (also basketball season squads if we need to split into 2 squads).

About Tryouts

• The tryout clinic will be May 1-5th from 3:10-4:45 in the CMS gym. May 5th will be tryouts by appointments, NOT a full clinic day. However, students may stay after until their time and work on the materials with the others. 

• Complete the Cheerleading intent to tryout form ONLY if you decide that yes, this is something that you want to try. It will be posted in Mrs.Green’s library google classrooms 3/17/23. If you sign up, I will expect to see you there.

• At the week-long clinic, you will learn: basic motions and jumps, the required tryout cheer, and the required tryout dance.

• At tryouts, you will be asked to perform the required cheer, the required dance, a toe touch jump, and a jump of your choice. 

• If needed, coaches may interview you based on your responses from the “Cheerleading Intent to Tryout” form to discuss your selections.

• Tryouts will be held on Friday, May 5th after school. You will sign up for a tryout time in groups of 3. Tryouts will be recorded to determine squad placement (A squad/B squad, if needed, and also to determine captains)

• Tryouts are closed. This means that only coaches and participating students for that time slot may be in the gym during your tryout. Parents may wait outside of the gym.
