Hello EMMS Family!

My name is Anastasia Chuca and I am the Director of Bands at East Montana Middle School.

I am 2013 UTEP Graduate with a Major in Music and a Minor in Education.

I have proudly worked at EMMS for 8 years, going on 9!

I have played in the El Paso Wind Symphony in 2013-2017 and have performed with the UTEP Marching Miners and with the DCI Open Class Group Revolution from San Antonio, TX throughout my college years.

Throughout my years of teaching at EMMS, we have been able to achieve several 1st Division Ratings in both Concert & Sightreading.

Highlights:

-2024-2025 Beginning Band Students were named Best in Class at the YISD Young Band Festival and were awarded the Jawn Glass Award!

-2025-2026 Beginning Band Students received Sweepstakes at YISD Young Band Festival.

-2024-2025 Honor Band Students earn the high rating "Sweepstakes" at the UIL Concert/Sightreading Clinic and placed Top 10 at State for the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series!

-2025-2026 Honor Band Students earn the high rating "Sweepstakes" at the UIL Concert/Sightreading Clinic and placed Top 10 at State for the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series for the second consecutive year in a row!

There are great things happening at EMMS! I look forward to a wonderful year as your scholar's band director!

My name is Brenda Munoz and I am excited to be the new assistant band director for the Rattler band. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelors in music education and a dual certification in Special Education. 

I performed with the UNT flute choir, baroque ensemble, served as a section leader for the Green Brigade Marching Band and performed in the UNT Wind Studies ensembles. 

Throughout my four years at UNT, I worked in several teaching positions such as an early-childhood music teacher, lesson teacher and an after-school music teacher for two years. 

I am thrilled to be working with your students and to be a part of a wonderful band program!
