Smart phones and other personal electronic devices are to be turned off and stowed in backpack/purse during school hours.
In the event a student chooses not to stow the smart phone or other personal electronic device the device will be taken and turned in to the front office.
Security will be called, and student will be taken to the office with a discipline referral if the student refuses to submit device.
Students can access all assignments in Google Classroom.
Grades are recorded as a zero (0) in Skyward until the assignment is submitted.
Each assignment has a listed due date. Assignments are expected to be submitted by the due date.
A student has seven (7) calendar days past the due date to submit a written assignment with no penalty.
Special consideration to submit a written assignment after seven (7) days will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
To request special consideration, the student must open the assignment in Google Classroom and post a private comment explaining the reason for special consideration.
The teacher will review the request and determine if special consideration is warranted.
The teacher’s decision is final.
Most written assignments turned in with a score less than 70 may be redone by using the redo link left with the score in Google Classroom.
Students who have not completed an assignment are sent a reminder email with directions for submitting the assignment.
Performances are mandatory for the Theatre Arts I-IV -Performance class.
There are no performance requirements for the Theatre Arts I-V - Appreciation class.
Students in Theatre Arts I-IV - Performance are expected to participate in theatre productions. Most rehearsals are conducted during class. Dress rehearsals and performances require after-school and evening attendance. These participation assignments are graded.
All theatre tudents are expected to sell tickets to the school performances. Each student will be provided with ten (10) tickets for each school performance at Horizon High School. These participation assignments are graded.

A production calendar will be provided in the Theatre Arts Google Classrooms for all productions.
