Announcements
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students: We want to welcome you to the Woodrow Wilson Middle School Counseling Center. We are here to help connect you with resources and support.
Meet our counselors below:
Mrs. Michelle Walsh
6th Grade Counselor
I have been a counselor in Clifton Schools for 18 years, 14 of which have been at Woodrow Wilson Middle School. I have truly enjoyed working with students from 6th through 8th grade. I absolutely love watching them grow, both physically and emotionally, as they progress through middle school. I work with students, both individually and in small groups, focusing on all different areas, such as conflict resolution, setting academic goals and many other issues that middle school students face. I also work closely with teachers, parents, administration and the nurses to ensure that every student is reaching his or her full potential. Please feel free to contact me anytime at mwalsh@cliftonschools.net.
Ms. Laura Tunnell
7th Grade Counselor
Hello WWMS! My name is Ms. Tunnell and I am so excited to be a part of your WWMS Family! I have been a School Counselor for the last 6 years, 5 of those years having been at School 11 right here in Clifton. When I am not in office, you can find me on the Cheer Mat or at the Football Stadium as I am one of the Cheer Coaches at CHS! Some of my favorite things include: Cooking, reading, going to the beach/lake, trying new restaurants with friends and my White Lab Hope! I am looking forward to an exciting and rewarding school year filled with growth, learning and meaningful connections. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me at ltunnell@cliftonschools.net.
Ms. Amanda Ferrise
8th Grade Counselor
This is my fifth year as a school counselor in the Clifton School District and I am excited to continue working as the 7th grade counselor at Woodrow. I work with students on individual and group levels to address their social, emotional and academic needs to be successful throughout their middle school years. I also work closely with staff and administration to provide support to my students and their families. Please contact me with any questions or concerns you may have at aferrise@cliftonschools.net. I look forward to working with all of you!
Mrs. Deanna Farkas
Student Assistance Coordinator
I am one of the Student Assistance Coordinator (SAC) counselors here at WWMS. Although I meet with students for a variety of reasons, I work with students who express that they are having a particularly difficult time coping with their emotions and/or current situation. I run themed counseling groups and hold one on one sessions. In addition to collaborating with administration and staff, I help connect families with community resources pending their needs and requests. Along with Ms. Amaniera, we develop the drug and alcohol education for the school community and offer confidential support for families. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns at dfarkas@cliftonschools.net.
Ms. Melissa Amaniera
Student Assistance Coordinator
This is my third year working with Clifton students. I work with Mrs. Farkas to support any student with mental and emotional needs. My primary focus is to help students become the best version of themselves and provide them with the support they need in and outside of the school. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me at mamaniera@cliftonschools.net.
