Lost Property Procedures

Clothing Purchased:

All items bought from the Hadeda (School Shop) must be labelled correctly with your child’s full name (boarders to include the laundry number as well) E.g.: John Smith 150.

Options:

• Laundry marker before you leave the Hadeda (Mrs O'Connell may assist).

• Sew-in labels sewn on at home OR 

• Sewn on by Mrs Kalika (sewing charges will be agreed upon and billed to the parents' school account accordingly).

Lost Clothing:

Daily afternoon sweeps of all the areas of the school will take place, with labelled items either returned to children, or placed in the following places:

• Senior Primary: Lost property box at the top of Girls' Boarding House.

• Junior Primay: Lost property box in the Reading Room..

• Pre-School: Lost property box in Blockroom.

Fortnightly Sorting:

Return of Lost Property from the Senior Primary:

• Every second Monday, all unclaimed, marked lost property will be returned to children after Chapel.

• Any Junior Primary marked clothing will be taken to Mrs Jones on a weekly basis to distribute accordingly. 

Return of Lost Property from the Junior Primary & Pre-School:

• Junior Primary: All unclaimed, lost property is laid out for parents to view at half term and again at the end of each term. Any marked clothing is returned to the relevant children beforehand. 

• Pre-School: All unclaimed, lost property is laid out for parents to view on a regular basis. Any marked clothing is returned to the relevant children beforehand. 

Unlabelled/Unclaimed Lost Property:

• Unlabelled civvies not claimed by boarders will be redistributed to Khazimula Children’s Home or Love Notties.
