Not a single boy was on campus Saturday morning; all were at different rugby venues; a handful of Open girls at hockey clinics.
Touch rugby on Friday evening after dinner saw the girls and boys having so much fun (can’t say the girls have the catching and kicking skills that the boys do though… ) There was a lot of laughter!
The boys made use of the cricket pitches for some friendly games while the girls got some skills going with hockey.
After breakfast on Saturday morning, we took a walk to the bottom of the Loteni road, to go and cheer on Matt Dove who is running 330 kms non-stop, to raise funds for Hospice.
A relaxed and chilled Saturday afternoon watching a movie, sipping hot chocolate, as the weather had turned on the chilly side On Sunday, the children engaged in water balloon fights, and then a rinse off in the pool.
Having had a wonderful rest on Saturday night, Sunday was oozing with promise. After a magnificent brunch the children headed off on a scavenger hunt. With items such as a horseshoe, chameleon, bug weed, flowers and feathers to find, there was much scurrying around in terms…until the lightening siren sounded.
After the social on Friday night, the children were exhausted. On Saturday, the boarder children embarked on a day filled with excitement and sportsmanship. The highlight of the day was the cricket match, complemented by a delightful feast at the tuck shop.
I would just like to take this opportunity in welcoming all the new children into Usher and Sutcliffe Houses. We look forward to an incredible year ahead.
