This TEA page explains how schools and districts receive their A–F accountability ratings. It outlines three key domains:
Student Achievement — evaluates STAAR test results, graduation rates, and how ready students are for college, careers, or military service.
School Progress — looks at students’ year-over-year academic growth and compares performance to schools with similar student demographics.
Closing the Gaps — uses detailed subgroup data to show how well schools support students from diverse backgrounds and reduce disparities.
These domains combine into an overall rating for each campus and district, helping families understand how their school performs, where it’s making progress, and how it supports all students in reaching success.
