About Me

I am a Cleveland County native and graduated from Shelby High School in 2001.  I attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education (with a concentration in Chemistry and a minor in African American Studies).   I obtained my Master of Library Science degree from East Carolina University in 2009, and became a National Board Certified Teacher in December 2020.  This is my 19th year as an educator with Cleveland County Schools.  I was previously the media specialist at Burns Middle School, and a teacher at Township Three Elementary School.   I have been the media specialist at Shelby High School since 2016 and an adjunct instructor at Cleveland Community College since 2018.  I reside in Cleveland County with my husband and son.  Some of my hobbies include traveling, cooking, reading and singing.
