Project ACTIVATE

Cleveland County Schools

CCS's Project ACTIVATE grant ended at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. We are so thankful for the work that we completed, the local and state policies that we advanced, and how our culture has been transformed to better support students and families with their mental health.

Find out more about the work and read our annual reports here: https://www.dpi.nc.gov/districts-schools/classroom-resources/academic-standards/programs-and-initiatives/nc-healthy-schools/nc-project-awareactivate.

Project ACTIVATE is North Carolina's implementation of the Project AWARE (Advancing Wellness and Resiliency in Education) State Education Agency Grants issued by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS). Our logo!

This logo is intended to show how Project ACTIVATE is a statewide grant aiming to surround students with support. We may be located in Cleveland, Rockingham, and Beaufort counties but we are developing sustainable, replicable systems that can be used across the state. We want to reduce or remove all barriers our students and families face when trying to access a continuum of mental health supports.
