F.A.Q. About CMS Athletics
What about physicals?
A student must have a current physical on file in order to tryout for any sport. The physicals must be turned in to the Athletic Director. All physicals are valid for 395 days. Click the following link to access the pre-participation physical examination form.

What about eligibility?
In grades 6, 7 and 8, students must pass at least one course less than the number of required core classes each semester; and pass ½ of their elective courses and meet local promotion standards. This means that 7th & 8th graders must pass 3 of the 4 core classes ( math, language arts, science and social studies) and ½ of their electives for the semester. All 6th graders must pass 2 of 3 core classes and ½ of their electives for the semester, also.
Middle school athletic eligibility is based on the previous semester. Grades in the fall determine eligibility in the spring and grades in the spring determine eligibility in the fall.
A middle school student cannot turn the age of 15 before August 31. Once a student’s class enters the 6th grade, he or she only has 6 semesters of athletic eligibility.
*Completion of 2025-2026 Dragonfly Max, an updated physical, a proof of residence, and grades verified will gain athletic clearance.
