Gone
Thomas Meek has been a part of many productions, in many roles, for many years, here at CCCT. Some memorable favorites that stand out are: Director - The 39 Steps (2019), No Sex Please, We're British (2016) and A Christmas Carol (2013). Stage Manager - The Tempest, Kiss Me Kate & A Flea In Her Ear. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Science in Television and Film production from The University of Texas in Austin, and currently works in video and television production here in Houston.
Thomas would like to thank the cast for their professionalism and patience through these last few months. Putting on a show is always a lot of work. Adding the uncertainty of working around the pandemic and then the need to swap over to making it a video production (and the tweaks to the acting style that come with that) compounded that work significantly while adding new challenges along the way. I would especially like to thank Chase for all the work he put in joining the show late (and taking on the character with the most lines!) in the process due to a pandemic-related scheduling issue. He has been an absolute joy to work with and really threw himself headfirst in to the role.
And finally Thomas would like to thank his Stage Manager, Assistant Director (and amazing girlfriend) Aeryn Lance, for all the hard work she's put into this seemingly never-ending production. Its been a very long run and she's been working along side me on it since we started pre-production. This show wouldn't be what it is without you. Thank you.
I first read this show a couple of years ago and fell in love with it instantly. I personally love film/Hollywood history and this dives headfirst into the history of one of the highest grossing films ever made. The really wild part about this script is that it's actually rooted very much in reality. David O. Selznick really did lock himself, Hecht and Fleming in his office for a week while they acted their way through the book. Sure, the details of the situation have been tweaked for the show, but just starting with that historical situation sets us up for a fantastic ride of a show.
This is the first show I have worked on where we are portraying real historical figures, which gave the cast and I plenty of background information to dig into on each of these characters and I really enjoyed diving into the history with the cast. Additionally, having worked in film and television production myself, I found the driving force of the situation very familiar and enjoyed working with the cast to bring it to life.

COMING in JANUARY
Clear Creek at the Bayou
Clear Creek Community Theatre returns to the stage with a live presentation of Agatha Christie’s A Murder is Announced (Adapted by Leslie Darbon) January 8 -17, 2021.
The residents of the village of Chipping Cleghorn are astonished to read an advert in the local newspaper that a murder will take place at the home of Letitia Blacklock
A murder is announced and will take place on Friday at Little Paddocks, at 6:30 p.m. Friends please accept this, the only intimation.
Unable to resist the mysterious invitation, a crowd begins to gather at Little Paddocks at the appointed time when, without warning, the lights go out and a shot is fired. What follows is a classic Christie puzzle of mixed motives, concealed identities, a second death, a determined Inspector grimly following the twists and turns, and Miss Marple on hand to provide the final solution.
