ABRSM Representative

Natalie has always had a love for the Fine Arts. She began taking piano lessons at the age of 3 and became a church pianist at the age of 15, giving private lessons on the weekends. She sought out every opportunity to participate in local art, music, and theatre production in support of her passion. She graduated with a B.A. degree in Education and Music Performance, under the direction of Dr. Phyllis Rand, and Cindy Graby, and continued to study under Dr. Lynn Lauderdale at the University of West Florida. After receiving her M. ED. in Educational Administration, Natalie moved to Houston to start her own piano studio. She also began teaching art and music on the elementary and secondary level, and quickly took charge of the artistic directions of school-wide productions and events. Her private students perform regularly and have received superior recognition in regional and international competitions and exams.

In addition to her extensive travels, she has lived in Asia, Central America, and various cities in the US, allowing her opportunities to remain active and immersed in the local arts and culture. In a recent interview with a local news channel, she explains:

“There is nothing that excites me more than the Fine Arts. I never knew what it meant to be passionate about something until my mind was opened to the arts. Not only was I able to understand more of myself, but I was able to make connections between everything else I see in the world. It never ceases to amaze me how diverse and yet interconnected we are in our desires, hopes, and needs. And a medium such as art or music provides the platform to unify us collectively, or inspire us individually. This always leaves me with an utter sense of wonderment and curiosity. Therefore, it is my passion to bring closer to the audience, that sense of mystery and hope through my art and music".

With that passion, Natalie serves as the International Representative for ABRSM in the South Central region, overseeing TX, LA, OK, KS, and MS.  In addition, she volunteers with the Museum of Fine Arts as a Docent Educator, performs with the Houston Symphony Chorus, and is a member of MTNA, TMTA, and The Piano Guild. She has experience teaching various academic and enrichment courses in all K-8 levels, and has developed interdisciplinary curricula for the private and public schools.  She also holds a degree in Nonprofit Management from Rice University and served for 12 years as the executive director at Campbell Learning Center, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.  She now keeps a robust studio of students from age 4 to adult, is an avid cook and fine art photographer.
