Professional Growth: I will enhance instructional practices in the Introduction to Law and Public Safety program by incorporating more project-based and career-focused learning opportunities that connect classroom instruction to real-world legal and public safety careers. I plan on attending and engaging in at least two professional development trainings during the school year to strengthen my knowledge of industry trends, instructional technology, and student-centered teaching strategies. Lastly I will increase student engagement by encouraging more student reflections as a demonstration that that have an understanding of Law and Public Safety concepts.

The professional associations provide ongoing training and networking opportunities which enable us to present industry professionals as guest speakers and mock panel interview participants.
Professional Development- I obtained the following: CERT Instructor, CPR Instructor, and Stop the Bleed. I was a LAPSEN New Teacher Orientation Presenter.
We regularly attend district and school professional development to ensure our pedegogy is aligned with the district vision and mission. The industry partners provide our program with training and best practices to ensure we are teaching up to date procedures, processes and skills that will help our classes stay relevant. For example I have attended training sessions at Atlanta Police Crime Lab to learn about ballistics, specifically shell casing and bullet comparisons. I have attended security networking events to learn more about the cyber security field and how I can prepare my students for such careers.
Professional Growth- I will continue to tap into my network to provide quality training, knowledgeable guest speakers, opportunities for internships and job shadowing for my students. I will continue to seek relevant professional development to continue my growth and knowledge of best practices and skills in my content area. I will be attending the ACTE Conference in December to obtain information on best practices in industries under our umbrella. I plan to seek opportunities to serve in both ACTE and LAPSEN.
