M. L. King Elementary School STEM: Botany & Zoology

M. L. King Elementary will become a STEM school with a focus on Botany and Zoology.  STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.  Teachers at M. L. King Elementary will receive professional development and support to help prepare engaging lessons for students.  Professional development opportunities will be through GaTech CEISMC, Project Lead the Way, Buck Institute for Education, Atlanta Botanical, Zoo Atlanta, Michael C. Carlos Museum, and Georgia Aquarium.  Students will begin accelerated programs in elementary school to ensure they are ready for high school courses in middle school, putting them on track for Dual Enrollment in high school to assist them in becoming college and career ready.  We look forward to welcoming students into the Botany & Zoology program beginning the 2024-2025 school year.  The application will open November 1, 2023.
