The summer bridge program at Clay County High School is designed to assist rising ninth-grade students in making a successful transition from middle school to high school.
The focus will be on developing study and social skills needed to be successful in high school.
Students will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the building, begin to establish rapport with some of the teachers they will have in ninth grade, and learn about activities available to them in high school.
Research shows that students who are enrolled in a summer bridge (transition) program have a greater chance for success in high school. Studies also suggest that students who attend a summer bridge program have improved pass rates, increased self-esteem, and improved enthusiasm and motivation for learning.
Applications will be available in the front office at CCHS Freshman Orientation for all parents and in the front office beginning March 5th. Completed applications should be turned in to the front at office at Celina K-8 or Hermitage Springs School no later than April 6th. Students who are selected as participants in the Summer Bridge Program will be notified by May 5th.
