Why do we need a word of the week?

A wide vocabulary is essential to accessing exam papers in all of your subjects, not just English.

Example: Music GCSE question - describe how the composer creates a melancholy mood in this song. You cannot answer this question if you do not know that a melancholy mood is sad and pensive.
