K-6 Classes

We gather together as a community to begin our day with group prayer, the pledge to American flag, Scripture Memory, and Musical Enrichment through singing hymns and the Doxology, reviewing Timeline together, introducing Latin, Math, English Memory Work, celebrating birthdays. We value this time together to build community and focus our day on the Creator God.

Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name. Psalm 30:4

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them. Matthew 18:20

 Foster the confidence to speak in front of people and communicate clearly. Public speaking also develops personal responsibility skills and leadership training with the end goal of using this as a ministry to reach out to our community.

Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. Matthew 25: 35-40

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. I Peter 3:15

Enrichment through studying the methods and masters of history, focusing not on the end product, but rather a willingness to be stretched and learn to appreciate art and its ties to other subjects through observation, instruction, and projects using shared resources and engaging in hands-on study of technique, history and various mediums.

See, the Lord has called by name Bezalel and has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship to devise artistic designs. Ex. 35:30b-32a

Enrichment through the study of music theory with age appropriate activities and musical instruments. We will look at famous composers and musical pieces to apply our theoretical knowledge and develop an appreciation for great music while tying into our history and geography. We will explore world music while we learn about cultures, unusual instrumentation and styles from around the globe. A study of the hymns we are learning together finishes the course of study.

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. Col. 3:16

The study of God’s perfect design through hands on demonstrations, observations, and experiments using shared resources. Children also practice facilitation, scientific method and scientific discussion.

O Lord, our Lord, how Majestic is your name in all the earth! Who have displayed your glories above the heavens. Psalm 8:1

Studying world, Biblical and church history in a four year cycle. Building on at-home reading, we discuss, read, interact, play and craft about history in an effort to bring history to life. Discovering geographical locations through songs, games, tracing, freehand drawing, and other creative techniques. 

It is I who made the earth and created mankind upon it. Isaiah 45:12

Diving into the study of Latin in order to strengthen our understanding of English grammar and prepare for learning other languages while building a strong base for future study.

So also you, unless you utter by the tongue speech that is clear, how will it be known what is spoken? For you will be speaking into the air. 1 Cor. 14:9

Lower Elementary children will be listening to beloved picture books and learning to respectfully narrate and discuss thoughts in a group setting. This is in preparation for future Socratic discussions. We work to support and encourage intellectual diversity by practicing the pursuit of gaining insight from each other and sharing knowledge in fellowship according to different abilities and giftings in the Body of Christ.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8

Upper Elementary students explore language arts through writing. Sharing this experience with others encourages creativity and joy in the writing process while honing communication skills in an interactive environment.

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. I Corinthians 12:21

Focusing time on moving our bodies keeps us healthy and honors God. We learn sportsmanship while enjoying the world that God created.
