Work/Study Habits
In science classrooms across LPS, students are engaged in sharing their understanding of the natural world using their funds of knowledge based on their experiences both in and outside of the classroom. They will be asked to think critically about the world around them, and engage in scientific discourse in small groups, and as a whole class. Using the practices and skills that both scientists and engineers use, students will figure out and apply science ideas. These practices and skills include but are not limited to; asking questions and defining problems; developing and using models, planning and carrying out investigations; analyzing and interpreting data; using mathematical and computational thinking; constructing explanations and designing solutions; engaging in arguing from evidence; and obtaining, evaluating and communicating information.
