While listening and speaking skills are more fully developed, there is additional emphasis on writing and reading in the second-year world language course. Increased vocabulary and knowledge of grammar raise language skills; students continue to learn about specific cultural components of the countries studied. A grade of a C or better is highly recommended for success at the next level.
