Cancellations for Middle School Activities will be made prior to 7 am the morning of the event or 3 pm if during a school day.

The goal of activities is to provide a supportive environment for students to enhance academic pursuits and to achieve goals pertaining to increased success, social development, physical development, cooperation, positive self-concept and personal worth and integrity. Further, activities should enable students to explore interest areas, develop new interests, and apply new knowledge through participation in individual and group activities. The intent of activities is for students to gain a sense of pride in accomplishments, to maintain the proper perspective of losing and winning, and to do one's best at whatever that level may be.

ONLY participants and coaches are allowed on playing area. Spectators must remain seated in the designated area; including at the conclusion of the game, win or lose.
Intramural and extramural athletics are offered for middle school students in Lincoln Public Schools. Sports offered at each school vary depending on student interest, facility and coaching availability.
September/October: Cross Country (XC), Girls Volleyball (VB), Soccer
October/November: Wrestling
November/December: Girls Basketball (GBB)
January/February: Boys Basketball (BBB)
April/May: Track & Field (T&F)
Extramural competition between teams or individuals from all LPS middle schools is limited to seventh and eighth graders.
Sixth graders may participate in weekly intramural athletics (based on coaching availability), but may not compete. This is Department of Education Rule 10.
All students are able to participate as teams are skill based in nature. The number of participants may dictate how many athletes are on each team. No student will be denied participation unless they have broken the expectations and policies found HERE.

The following belief statements underscore the intent of Lincoln Public Schools Middle Level Activities. The statements found below were conceived with the intent that not only student-participants would benefit from their formulation, but others would as well. All those involved with Middle Level Activities such as coaches, parents, officials and spectators should familiarize themselves with the belief listed below.
To encourage student-participants to conduct themselves in a manner which brings credit to themselves and their school.
To expand student-participants awareness of various activities through inclusive exploration regardless of individual strengths or needs.
To apply newly acquired skills through activities that require both individual and group participation/cooperation.
To promote the development of self-discipline, self-esteem and self-worth.
To enhance and shape the proper perspective of losing and winning.
