Drive - when there is space in front of you, quickly dribble into the open space
Depth - providing support between the length of the field between two goals, whether that be behind your teammate for a drop, or opening space by going further towards the attacking goal
Turn Up - receive the pass, turn with it, and immediately go up the field
Half Spaces - the spaces in between the forward, midfield, and defensive lines lengthwise, and also the spaces across the width of the field between the 10 field players. These spaces are dangerous as it forces the defensive team to communicate effectively to decide who picks up the player in the half space.
Combination Play - working with one or more players to move the ball in a passing pattern, to create overloads and open spaces on the field
Press - this involves closing down spaces all over the field. In today’s game, pressing is typically seen in the attacking third where the defensive team tries to force the defensive team into a mistake in an area close to their own goal.
Double Down - two players converge on the player with the ball to hopefully force said player into a mistake.
Force - directing an opposing player with the ball to an area we want to go. Most of the time, forcing a player involves shaping the body to cut off the middle of the field and showing the sideline to the opposing player.
