Welcome to the world of languages!

Here are your tasks for session 1:

1. Select the language you would like to learn - Spanish, French, Japanese, German
2. Name some countries in the world where that language is spoken.
3. Name celebrities (sports stars, singers, actor/actress, YouTuber, blogger) who speak the language.
4. What are some of the cultural traditions ie: festivals, sports, religious events
5. Does New Zealand have any ties with any Spanish/German/French/Japanese-speaking countries, economically, politically or sporting?
6. List any words you already know of your selected language.
7. Research some of the rules of the language eg: German --> Titles like Mr. ALWAYS needs to be used with a surname.
8. Research how to say the following greetings, write them in your languages book and draw a picture where the background helps explain when it’s appropriate to use:
   1. In the morning
   2. In the afternoon
   3. At night
   4. Anytime
   5. Welcome
9. Include the following titles into your greetings:
   1. Sir
   2. Madam
   3. Boy
   4. Girl
10. Practice the greetings with another person in your group.
11. Find a game you could play to help learn these.
