On April 9th, Dr. Susan Powers attended SUNY Potsdam's first Food Insecurity and Nutrition Education Conference and hosted a workshop. The workshop focused on exploring the opportunities that exist in Potsdam for community-scale food waste management. In creating a sustainable food management system food insecurity can be addressed by implementing effective food recovery programs. The Potsdam community is working towards establishing more effective connections between food recovery programs and generators with the help of GardenShare's Local Food Guide.
A slideshow on the right highlights some of the vendors and activities that occurred at the Expo.
