Depression is a serious disorder that affects people all over the country and around the world. It does not discriminate. People of all races, ethnic backgrounds, ages, etc. battle depression.

Oftentimes, people suffer in silence due to the stigma of depression. People who have never battled with the disorder may not be able to understand the effects that it can have on someone who does. They may not be able to empathize and may even criticize the depressed person.

It is very important that a person suffering from depression gets the care and treatment that they need and deserve. Without proper treatment, depression symptoms can completely debilitate the sufferer. In addition, there needs to be resources available to assist them in their daily lives.
