MUSIC IN CLARKE
MUSIC IN CLARKE
Our choral program is part of the larger, vibrant musical community at Clarke County Public Schools. We hope to involve and retain as many students as possible in the music program-- there is a place for everyone in our ensembles and classes!
Upon completing their essential general music education at Boyce or D.G. Cooley, our students have the option to continue their musical development at Johnson-Williams in choir and/or band. In addition to refining their performance skills, our middle school students begin closer studies of music theory & music history. At the high school, our course offerings expand to include concert choir, chamber choir, band, jazz band, percussion ensemble, steel drums, and IB music, all of which empower students to be /// citizenship & musicianship emphasis
Our choirs are hands-on, performance-based classes designed to develop individual voices and choral singing through the study of sight-singing, music theory, music history, and diverse choral repertoire.
