MEET MS. SNARSKY
MEET MS. SNARSKY
Ms. Kristi Snarsky is a Clarke County native (CCHS class of 2010) who has returned to Virginia after a decade of teaching & learning in Massachusetts.
As a CCHS student, Ms. Snarsky was an active member in nearly every musical ensemble, from chamber choir to indoor drumline (and everything in between!). After graduating, Ms. Snarsky continued her musical education at Berklee College of Music (B.M. Music Education, 2013), UVA (M.Ed. Curriculum & Instruction, 2014), and Harvard University (Ed.M. Arts in Education, 2020). In addition to studying education, Ms. Snarsky was involved with both collegiate instrumental as well as vocal ensembles—in 2020, she performed on tour in Puerto Rico with the historic Harvard women’s choir, the Radcliffe Choral Society.
As a teacher, Ms. Snarsky has worked with students of all ages, abilities, & backgrounds as a music specialist and director in Boston Public Schools. After 7 years with BPS, Ms. Snarsky seized the opportunity to relocate (along with her husband, also a teacher, & three cats) to Clarke in order to be closer to her family & to work with the hometown music program she knew & loved.
Above all, Ms. Snarsky is looking forward to continuing the great creative work of the Clarke choral program, where she intends to make a welcoming & inclusive space for all singers to find their voice.
