Jazz Band

Seventh and eighth grade band members may opt to participate in jazz band. Jazz band rehearses on Wednesdays from 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM from mid-October until the February concert. In order to participate in jazz band, students must be a current member of either 7th grade band or 8th grade band AND play a jazz band instrument. Jazz band instruments include alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, bari saxophone, trumpet, French Horn, trombone, baritone, piano, guitar, bass, and percussion (drum set, vibes, and auxiliary percussion). Jazz band members perform in a required jazz concert on Thursday, February 5, 2026. 

The Clarke 7-12 Jazz Band Concert will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Clarke High School Auditorium. All 7th and 8th grade jazz band members should dress up in the best clothes that they have and report to the band room by 6:30 PM in order to warm-up and tune their instruments. Admission to the concert is free. The concert will feature performances by the 7th/8th grade jazz band, as well as by both high school jazz bands. The rehearsal schedule for jazz band will be posted closer to October.
