Counselor
Good afternoon, Stroud Elementary School families.
While we are learning online, counselors in our school district will be using Zoom to meet with families and students. If you or your student would like to meet with me online, please send me an email to (smitha2@clarke.k12.ga.us) to set up a time. I will be responding to messages and having meetings between 9 am and 1 pm during the week. Please feel free to message me with any questions or needs that you may have during this time.
I also wanted to share two resources for caregivers about how to talk to your children about COVID-19:
Child Mind Institute (video on page): https://childmind.org/article/talking-to-kids-about-the-coronavirus/
National Association of School Psychologists: https://www.nasponline.org/resources-and-publications/resources-and-podcasts/school-climate-safety-and-crisis/health-crisis-resources/talking-to-children-about-covid-19-(coronavirus)-a-parent-resource
Thank you,

It can be scary to hear about a disease outbreak, but learning the facts can help ease your mind. A new coronavirus—a type of virus named for its crown-like shape—emerged in Wuhan, China in 2019, and then spread to people around the world. While the most severe cases often dominate the headlines, they’re not the whole story. Most coronavirus cases have been mild, and healthy bodies can fight off the infection on their own. Find out more about how viruses work, and the best ways to prevent them from infecting more people. Viruses can’t spread without our help, so click play to learn how not to help them!
