Family Activities to be Prepared for Virtual Learning
Be on time! Although your child is working from home, it is very important for your child to log onto their device to join the class, everyday. If your child is ill on a school day, please inform your child's teacher.
Routines: Have a daily routine in place so that your child or children will know what to expect from the day. Hang their school schedule up on the wall or on the refrigerator for everyone to see and to know what the plan is!
Work together to create a space for your child’s or your children’s learning and work time.
Use the different forms of communication (email, Dojo, phone) to connect with the teacher and school staff.
If you have questions or concerns about your child’s learning, reach out to the school - there will be additional resources available that will be provided to help in this journey!
Additional Family Tips for Virtual Learning
Take a Family Walk: If the weather permits, spend a little time outside with your child or your children (just the family) and enjoy the fresh air! Of course if you do this, do this just with your family (due to social distancing).
Open Communication: Check in with one another to see how everyone is doing, feeling and allow for open communication and dialogue as we continue to adjust to new changes in our homes/community/world. Stay positive!
Self-Care Tips: Recognize the things you can control, like having good hygiene; Taking measures only if recommended by the CDC; Seeking professional help [if you have a need...support is out there]” From the Very Well Mind website.
