7th and 8th Grade Science 

Class overview

Welcome to Mrs. Hannah’s science Class, where all students are Scientists!  I am so excited to explore the why, how and what ifs of the world with you. I can’t wait to meet all of you and  have a wonderful school year!

During this class, students will learn and demonstrate a variety of science and engineering practices. They will develop their understanding of science content by use of scientific inquiry. They will also conduct scientific investigations and experiments to explore concepts. The curriculum for 7th and 8th grade science has been outlined by the Clarendon County School District and follows the South Carolina College-and Career-Ready Science Standards 2021. Daily class time will be structured with approximately 20 minutes of direct instruction, 20- 45 minutes for student practice, independent work, small group or individual instruction and 10 minutes of nonfiction writing. The objective of this class is to encourage natural curiosity and teach students how to think and solve problems by using the same skills and methods as scientists and engineers.
