This course is a fundamental introduction to the elements, principles, tools and techniques of design as they apply to two-dimensional and three-dimensional art forms. Traditional and contemporary approaches will be explored through a variety of media, processes, and applications to facilitate students’ understanding of visual organization. This course helps prepare students for exploration in other visual arts courses through the study of the elements and principles of art, aesthetic judgment, art criticism, art careers and portfolio development. Craftsmanship will be stressed and students will display their work in school, local and/or state exhibits.
1 - Poster Board - size 22” x 28” (Any color but black) REQUIRED
1 - Binder with divider tabs REQUIRED
1 - Pack of white paper
1 - Pack of Pencils (wooden preferred)
1 - Pencil Sharpener
1 - Erasers (gum, white or kneaded)
1 - Single Hole Puncher
1 - Glue Stick (May need more)
1 - Black Sharpie
1 - Roll of Masking Tape
And of course, any supplies of your own that you would like to utilize.
