Scholarly articles

academic journals

Gale Academic OneFile contains millions of articles from over 17,000 academic journals and provides the complete text of these articles.  You can access this database using the password Claremont.

Start a basic search by entering keywords about your topic in the SEARCH bar.  After obtaining your search results, you can narrow the number of results by date and by subject.  You can also search for a specific phrase within your search results.

Another strategy is to start with an Advanced Search to search for specific fields (example: title, author), specific date ranges, or to use Boolean Operators (AND, OR, NOT).  If you are having difficulty obtaining results, please contact Ms. Pam for help.

You can also obtain the proper citation format for your article (at the end of the article).

You can use Google Scholar to locate articles that have been published in academic journals.  However, you may not have access to the full text of the articles you find on Google Scholar.  If this happens, contact Ms. Pam for help!

Google Scholar also shows you how many other articles have cited the article you are reading, and can help you to identify the proper citation format.
