Background Information about Google Additional Services
Google Workspace, Additional Services
On 1st September 2021 Google introduced changes to Google Workspace for Education and how users access 'Additional Services' such as YouTube, Google Maps, Google Earth and the Chrome Web Store. Clackmannanshire's schools have access to Google Workspace for Education core tools which include e.g. Google Classroom, Google Meet and Google Docs through Glow.
Recent changes introduced by Google now mean that if pupils wish to continue to have access to additional services:-
Then they need to give their consent so that they can access these services when signed into Glow.
Staff and learners use YouTube, Google Maps and Google Earth to support learning and teaching. Access to the Chrome Web Store is required so that staff and learners can access approved tools (Chrome Extensions) around improved accessibility tools and enhanced functionality of the core tools within Google Workspace for Education.
For learners under 16 parental consent needs to be given, so if you wish your child to be able to access these services to support their learning then we need to ask that you give consent.
All pupils will have under 18s access which adds extra restrictions to help protect their privacy when using additional services, more information can be found here:-
If you have more than one child attending Clackmannanshire schools then you will need to complete a form for each child.
Once completed your child's glow account details will be passed on to the Glow Team to enable the services for your child's account.
Thank You for taking the time to complete this form.
Note: Learners aged 16 and over can give consent themselves and schools will ask pupils to complete a google form for this.
