Student Work Permit

Minors under the age of 18 must obtain a Work Permit for Employment

QUALIFICATIONS FOR WORK EXPERIENCE CLASS

1. MUST be 16 years or older.

2. MUST be a sophomore, junior or senior.

3. MUST have a JOB – (we do not find jobs for students but often have job leads, check with Mr. Anderson in GS 300).

4. Businesses operated out of the home DO NOT qualify for Work Experience.

5. MUST be able to attend weekly Work Experience meetings and maintain regular attendance in school.

6. Credits are determined by a combination of hours worked, assignments completed and meetings attended: 20 hours plus 2 meetings earns 1 credit. Total of 10 credits available per semester, 20 credits total per year. (Must complete class to receive credits)

7. Class meetings are held 0 period (7:20am-8:23am) every Wednesday, all meetings will be conducted through Canvas unless instructed otherwise.

8. STUDENTS MUST ENROLL FOR WORK EXPERIENCE THROUGH THE WORK EXPERIENCE COORDINATOR, not through your counselor.

9. Grades: Student has option to take class as a PASS or FAIL only or for a LETTER GRADE. This is explained in detail on the Petition for Pass/Fail Credit letter included in this packet.
