2024 application packet REQUIREMENTS

Central Jersey College Prep PTSO wishes to acknowledge the dedication and hardwork our students demonstrate everyday.  To do this we would like to award 4 of our students who are continuing their education at an accredited college, or professional school, with a scholarship. Scholarships are offered in 2 categories: Academic and Financial Need.  

CJCP gradating students may apply to one or both if they are eligible. Please make sure to provide every item required to apply, as noted below. If there are any items missing or if you miss the deadline, you will be removed from the review process. Scholarship recipients are selected and ranked based on a review, by the PTSO Board, of the items listed in the application packet. To apply, please complete the application packet in its entirety as it pertains to the category/categories you are applying for.  

1) All candidates must meet the following qualifications:

        a) Acceptance as a candidate to an accredited college or professional school

        b) Graduating this year, June 2024, from Central Jersey College Prep

2) All candidates must complete the Application Form and include the following items in the application packet. INCOMPLETE PACKETS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. 

        a) Three (3) letters of recommendation as indicated below:

• Two (2) from current CJCP High School teachers

• One (1) from a member of the community, such as clergy, employer, or organization leader

                (Letters of recommendation must be ink signed and dated, in an envelope with your name on it and dropped off in the PTSO mailbox.)

        b) High School Transcript with an official school seal and signature

                (Official transcripts should be placed in an envelope with your name on it and dropped off in the PTSO mailbox.)

        c) Essay on the topic, “Tell us About a Contribution You’ve Made to Your Community,” 500-700 words, typed, and double-spaced  

4)  All Candidates must include a detailed list of their community service and volunteerism including the following: 

     a)     Name of the organization who received the service

        b) Dates of service

5) All Candidates for Financial Need Based scholarship must include proof they are Free & Reduced Lunch.    

6) All completed application packets must be submitted through our portal.  

7) Entire completed application packet must be received by Monday, June 3rd, 2024. NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE.

8) Scholarship recipients will be announced at the school’s annual high school senior awards assembly.
