The Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Office for Safe Schools coordinates school safety and security programs, collects the annual school violence statistics, coordinates antiviolence efforts, and develops policies and strategies to combat school violence.
The office supports and provides technical assistance, professional development programs, and security-related activities to support school safety in the following areas: crisis intervention, school police training, violence prevention, social/emotional wellness, and safety. The office provides these services to all local school entities.
Mission
To restore and protect the joy of youth through educational programs and positive actions in collaboration with families, schools, communities, organizations and government entities.
Nearly Everywhere
The “I Love U Guys” Foundation serves the lives of students, administrators, public safety experts, families, and first responders through the development and training of school and community safety and family reunification programs. Our programs have been implemented by over 30,000 schools, agencies and organizations across the United States, Canada and 11 other countries.
We are a conduit for the work and experience of administrators, psychologists, public space safety experts, families, and first responders. This collaborative work is data-driven, researched, and based on experience and leading practices.
All programs are available online at no cost. Not even an email address.
The Programs
The “I Love U Guys” Foundation’s programs for crisis response and post-crisis reunification are used in more than 30,000 schools, districts, departments, agencies, organizations and communities around the world. They are created through the research-based best practices of school administrators, psychologists, public space safety experts, families, and first responders. We’re a powerful conduit uniting this work. Developed hand-in-hand with school administrators, psychologists, public space safety experts, families, and first responders, our programs are both research and experience-based.
The Standard Response Protocol (SRP) provides consistent, clear, shared language and actions among all students, staff and first responders for all hazards. It is action based, and allows organizations, first responders, students, and parents to share a specific vocabulary for quick and coordinated action. It also acts as a tool for training which develops the muscle memory necessary to respond appropriately in moments of crisis.
The SRP is based on five actions: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter.
Reunifying students with parents or guardians is a critical component of emergency response, but one that is often overlooked. The Standard Reunification Method (SRM) provides school and district safety teams with proven methods to plan, practice, and achieve a successful reunification amid what can be chaotic and stressful circumstances.
The Training
The “I Love U Guys” Foundation team of trainers all have personal and professional experience with school and public safety. Through their experiences, our trainings come to life in a way that can only be felt through people who’ve been there.
It was a tragedy that launched The Foundation. And we thrive because we know that with love, we can work together to protect and restore the joy of youth. We’re doing it. Join us. With you, we got this.
